The search is on for the Best Beer Puller in the Canary Islands



The aspirants to the best beer puller in the Canary Islands can now sign up to participate in the Estrella Galicia Beer Pulling Championship, a regional phase which will allow the winner to take part in the national championship to be held early in 2016. The contest will be held on 18 May, starting at 10.30am at the Gran Hotel Bahía del Duque in Tenerife (Costa Adeje).

Participation is open to all those professionals who, representing their respective establishments or companies, are from any part of the region. They can sign up for free on the Estrella Galicia webpage before Tuesday 12 May at 12.00pm (midday). ( From all those who sign up, 30 participants will compete, representing the different areas of the region.


The jury, which will be made up of experts from the beer, catering and restaurant sectors, will have to work hard to evaluate the quality and excellence of the aspirants’ service, as well as their knowledge about beer. The jury will analyse each exercise and award points, according to previously defined parameters, for style, technique and the level of perfection when pulling a beer, and its final presentation.

The five finalists will win their weight in beer, and a cash prize of €600, and €400 for the runner-up. There will also be three runner-up prizes of €150. All the finalists will be given a certificate of participation, while the winner and runner-up will go directly through to the National Championship, with paid travel and accommodation costs.

Estrella Galicia rewards professionalism and quality when serving beer.

After the success of the previous editions, Estrella Galicia has decided to once again test the skills and quality of service of catering professionals throughout Spain with the aim of rewarding the talent and effort of barmen when serving the product at its optimum point for the consumer to enjoy.


The grand final will be held at the beginning of 2016 with representatives from all the Spanish regions, winners of the classifying regional phases.

The aim of this championship is to promote beer culture, the values of beer as a product of excellence within the food and beverage industry, and acknowledge the work carried out by bartenders as a fundamental link in the distribution chain of Estrella Galicia products. Professionalism in catering establishments is fundamental to offer end consumers the full range of possibilities a premium beer such as Estrella Galicia has to offer.
