THE BEST BEER PULLER IN CATALONIA IS OSCAR FEDERICO DOMÍNGUEZ, FROM THE ANDALUSIAN TABERNA “EL CENACHERO” IN TORDERA

  • The winner beat over 20 other candidates in the competition that Estrella Galicia has launched within the framework of Alimentaria.
  • From Estrella Galicia we have once again organized the Beer Pulling Championship of Catalonia with the aim of finding the professional with the greatest skill in beer service of the community.
  • The best will represent Catalonia in the national final, where they will face the rest of the regional winners represented.

At the Hijos de Rivera stand at Alimentaria today we hosted the Estrella Galicia Beer Pulling Championship. A total of 20 candidates from different parts of the community have faced each other throughout different rounds to win the title of Best Beer Puller in Catalonia.

After different phases in which they had to demonstrate their skill by pulling beers, serving bottled beer and answering questions of various kinds about the beer world, Oscar Federico Domínguez, from the Andalusian Taberna “El Cenachero” in Tordera (Barcelona), has won the title of Best Beer Puller in Catalonia. Isaac Villaroel, from La Villa Restaurant in Sant Joan (Barcelona), was runner-up in this event.

From Estrella Galicia we organized this championship in Catalonia to find the professional with the greatest skill in beer service of the community. After the success of the different editions throughout the country, this call seeks to reward the professionalism and work of bartenders when serving beer as a fundamental part of the distribution chain of Estrella Galicia products. The best gain direct access to the national grand final, where they will face the rest of the regional winners of the different regions represented.

Made up of experts in serving, hospitality and gastronomy, the role of the jury has been to assess the quality, efficiency and speed in the service, as well as the knowledge about beer culture of the candidates for the title. In addition, it analysed the activity of each participant, taking into account parameters such as the style, technique and way of pulling the beer, the finish, the creaminess of the foam and cleanliness, as well as its presentation.

The cash prize for the champion is 1000 euros and for the runner-up 600 euros. Three runner up prizes of 150 euros each have also been awarded.
