GUSTAVO REY, FROM CERVEXERÍA O ENCONTRO IN RIBADUMIA, BEST BEER PULLER IN GALICIA

  • Estrella Galicia gathered today at MEGA the best from the most recent editions of the Galician Beer Pulling Championship in an experts competition who demonstrated an extremely high level of skill in the service of beer both from tap and from bottles.
  • Miguel Pampín, from the Cafeteria Ramallosa in Ramallosa , was the runner-up of the contest.
  • The winner and runner-up of this edition of expert brewers will represent Galicia in the national contest to take place on April 26 at the Salón de Gourmets in Madrid.

Estrella Galicia celebrated today, at MEGA, the Estrella Galicia Beer Pulling Championship with the aim of finding the greatest expert in beer service in our region. On this occasion, we brought together the winners of the last editions held in Galicia so the level of the competition has been especially high.

The candidates have already amply demonstrated their skill serving beer both from the tap and from the bottle in previous editions, as well as their knowledge of beer culture. After several stages, Gustavo Rey from the Cervexería O Encontro in Ribadumia won the title of Best Beer Puller in Galicia. The winner was very satisfied with the triumph and pointed out that “this is visible in the premises, it is promotion and accreditation that gives a plus of quality, of credibility to the client”.

The runner-up is another bartender from the province of Pontevedra – Miguel Pampín, from the Ramallosa Cafeteria, in Ramallosa.  Both the champion and the runner-up of this edition of expert brewers will represent Galicia in the national contest to take place on April 26 at the Salón de Gourmets in Madrid.

Made up of experts in serving, hospitality and gastronomy, the role of the jury has been to assess the quality, efficiency and speed in the service, as well as the knowledge about beer culture of the candidates for the title. In addition, it analysed the activity of each participant, taking into account parameters such as the style, technique and way of pulling the beer, the finish, the creaminess of the foam and cleanliness, as well as its presentation.

The cash prize for the champion is 1000 euros and for the runner-up 600 euros. Two runner up prizes of 150 euros each have also been awarded.
