Estrella del Camino is the new beer brewed by the master brewers of Hijos de Rivera to pay tribute to the Camino de Santiago and celebrate the Xacobeo 2021-2022.

A Galician witbier  using natural ingredients from the different routes that are part of the Camino de Santiago (Camino de Levante, Camino Portugués, Camino Francés and Camino Inglés) during the brewing process.

200,000 litres of this recipe will arrive on the market, which will be on sale, while stocks last, on and off trade in Spain and internationally, as well as on the e-commerce channel La Cervecería de la Resistencia from the next few weeks.

Estrella Galicia launches the new special and limited edition of its beer ‘Estrella del Camino’ in tribute to the Xacobeo 2021-22. A recipe made from natural ingredients from the different routes that are part of the Camino de Santiago (Camino de Levante, Camino Portugués, Camino Francés and Camino Inglés), which give rise to a Galician witbier style beer with which the brewery seeks to capture the essence of the Camino.

The limited edition ‘Estrelladel Camino’ is a tasty and refreshing beer created by the master brewers of Hijos de Rivera to celebrate the Compostela “Holy Year”, one of Galicia’s most internationally famous events that will be held consecutively throughout 2021 and the 2022. A new beer with a pilgrim soul that in its recipe uses ingredients from the Camino such as sweet oranges of the Valencia Late variety, coriander seeds from Portugal, barley from Castile and, as could not be otherwise, wheat and the spirit of Galicia.

Amber with orange reflections, with a creamy and generous white foam of high persistence, ‘Estrelladel Camino’ is a beer that presents an elegant cloudiness in the glass. Among those elements that stand out are the rich scented, citrus and spicy aromas provided by sweet orange peel, Mandarina Bavaria hops and coriander seeds reminiscent of baking from malts and ale yeast. The varied  blend  of malts also gives toasted and nutty hints. The start in the mouth is sweet and with soft toasted notes, giving way to an acidity that provides a pleasant refreshing sensation, provided by wheat, orange peel, hops and coriander seeds. With a medium body, it has a soft and creamy sensation in the mouth thanks to the contributions of wheat and oat flakes.

200,000 litres of this special and limited edition recipe will be on sale from July, which will be available while stocks last on and off trade in Spain and internationally, as well as through the ecommerce channel La Cervecería de la Resistencia.

To publicize the launch of the new recipe ‘Estrella del Camino’, the brewery has launched a New Star with pilgrim soul campaign that includes the launch of an audio-visual piece, as well as digital and outdoor adaptations in key areas through which the Camino passes. The campaign will be in place from this July, accompanying the launch of the new recipe.

Art exhibition ‘Las Estrellas del Camino’

The launch of the limited edition ‘Estrella del Camino’ joins a series of actions designed by the Galician brewery to celebrate the Compostela “Holy Year” 2021-2022.

In recent months, it has launched the most extensive artistic exhibition in the world: Las Estrellas del Camino, the work of the Galician artist Mon Devane, through which Estrella Galicia pays tribute to the people who keep alive the spirit of the Camino de Santiago on the route, those who, with their life stories , accompany the pilgrims’ route and make it an unforgettable experience.

Las Estrellas del Camino begins in the stage that goes from O Cebreiro to Triacastela. A key place in the history of the Camino and continues uninterruptedly along the following stages until you reach Santiago, passing through Sarria, Portomárin, Melide, Arzúa and O Pino. Each of these stages of the Camino Francés has a mural, which has a local as its protagonist, someone who lives in that area, who represents the values of the route and is a clear reference in its community.
