Corporación Hijos de Rivera confirms its commitment to positive impact and sustainability by announcing its accession to the United Nations Global Compact, the world’s largest corporate sustainability initiative. Since 2000, this initiative has been driving private sector engagement with Ten Universally Accepted Principles in the areas of human rights, labour standards, the environment and the fight against corruption. In addition to adapting its operations to comply with these principles, action is also required to support the United Nations objectives currently embodied in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

For Corporación Hijos de Rivera, joining the Global Compact means reaffirming the company’s firm commitment to generating positive impact and joining a long list of companies worldwide that combine stretches by taking responsible business actions to create the world we want.

Ignacio Rivera, CEO of Corporación Hijos de Rivera, notes that “our adherence to the United Nations Global Compact is new encouragement to further transform our organization with the aim of generating a positive impact on our environment. We have much to do, but we do not lack the will or ambition to achieve it. We are nonconformists and our commitment to our origin, to our people, our planet, and our allies is firm.  We know that we are not going to change the world alone, but we will do everything in our power to improve it”

The Galician company has been immersed for years in an ambitious plan that places special focus on the care of the planet, people, working together with its allies, building bridges, and protecting its origin. To do this, it has been investing great efforts and resources, and involving all areas of the organization to transform its activity from within and reach milestones such as the carbon neutrality of its main facilities that it announced a month ago.
