Since 2000, the Global Compact has been driving private sector engagement with Ten Principles and contributing from its position to achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Corporación Hijos de Rivera confirms its commitment to positive impact and sustainability by announcing its accession to the United Nations Global Compact, the world’s largest corporate sustainability initiative. Since 2000, this initiative has been driving private sector engagement with Ten Universally Accepted Principles in the areas of human rights, labour standards, the environment and the fight against corruption. In addition to adapting its operations to comply with these principles, action is also required to support the United Nations objectives currently embodied in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
For Corporación Hijos de Rivera, joining the Global Compact means reaffirming the company’s firm commitment to generating positive impact and joining a long list of companies worldwide that combine stretches by taking responsible business actions to create the world we want.

To do this, it has been investing great efforts and resources, and involving all areas of the organization to transform its activity from within and reach milestones such as the carbon neutrality of its main facilities that it announced a month ago.
United Nations Global Compact
The United Nations Global Compact is the world’s largest business sustainability initiative with 1,809 entities currently affiliated in Spain. Of these, 21% are large enterprises, 61% are SMEs and 18% are other entities (third sector, business associations and educational institutions). Its objective is to promote the implementation of the ten principles of the Global Compact among the signatories for business sustainability and to work the SDGs with businesses and the private sector.
