This morning, at Jazz Filloa in A Coruña, the new 1906 Season was presented. It’s bursting with new things and good music in order to celebrate something as special as its ten-year anniversary.
It certainly is worth celebrating that such a special music project like this one, which started off as a small project linked to our 1906 beer, has managed to break with established norms and cross all borders, going from performances in a limited number of venues in Galicia to performances on stages throughout Spain and even Brazil, featuring a wide range of styles from blues to hip-hop. The same pattern followed by our beers, that perfectly mirror the variety of feelings, personalities and tastes that the 1906 Season reflects: 1906 Reserva Especial, elegant and timeless, 1906 Red Vintage, balanced and intense, and 1906 Black Coupage, nonconformist and free.
On 13 March, we will be able to enjoy the first event of this new edition with a concert by the black lady of rock Nik West (Phoenix) who will be at the Teatro Lara, with her bass guitar, to offer all those present the best quality funk and rock.
In addition to this concert, which opens the season in great style, there are another 13 shows from performers as special as Pepe Habichuela, with his pure flamenco, Jack Broadbent, described by the Montreaux Jazz Festival as “the new master of the slide guitar” and Las Lollipops with their fun stylistic maelstrom, among many others, which will bring the house down at all the venues in Spain this year.
A key date, the origin: 19 June. A key moment in the history of our Season: its international expansion. Three stages hundreds of kilometres apart: those that separate Santiago from Madrid and, for the first time ever, the Brazilian city of Sao Paulo. Three concerts that sum up the Season 1906 spirit: Abe Rábade Trío with Perico Sambeat, Flamenco Jazz All Stars with Josemi Carmona and Javier Colina, Daniel Daibem & Banda. And, of course, a common denominator: our 1906 beer in all its varieties.
When put together, they are the perfect ingredients for the recipe that will allow thousands of people to enjoy such an important moment as is the tenth anniversary of our Season, a year that will show us the best version of the Season.
