International Gastronomy Tourism Fair “Xantar” 2020 yet another year will become a showcase for our products, which we will present to the public through a wide range of activities that include tastings, workshops and our Beer Culture informative sessions.
Once again, Ourense will become the epicentre of Galician gastronomy from February 5 – 9 with a celebration of Xantar 2020, which has a 20-year history of promoting tourism through gastronomy based on autochthonous quality products.
Xantar will once again offer five days of intense activity, designed to offer professional and amateur visitors an opportunity to travel the world through the senses, which has made this event a benchmark for the most cutting-edge wine and food destinations in Spain, Portugal, as well as other Latin American countries.
Hijos de Rivera will be present at this gastro tourism event with an area at Expourense where visitors can enter our universe to discover all our products first hand. During these five days, visitors will be able to participate in activities like tastings, talks, or activities aimed at presenting our portfolio and spread the Beer Culture that defines us.
The first day of the fair, Wednesday 5 February, will focus on the presentation of our import beers. On this day, our brand ambassador, Alfonso Prego will take us on journey with the different beers from around the world, beginning with the Irish Craft Beers, with a tasting of O’Hara’s beers (1:30-2:15pm), continuing with the authentic Bruges beers, via a tasting of Halve Maan (6:30-7:15pm), finishing with the unique example of the Brewdog beers and a tasting of some of the brand’s beers (7:30-8:30pm) aimed at bloggers and influencers specialised in gastronomy.
On Thursday 6 February will be the turn of our Maeloc ciders and Ponte da Boga wines, with a total of four tastings aimed at presenting these products. Maeloc ciders will take the stage in two tastings led by the brand’s Market Manager, Sonia Paris (12:15-1:15pm and 6:30-7:00pm); while the Ponte da Boga wines will be the protagonists of the tastings led by the oenologist Patricia Pérez (1:30-2:30pm) and by the Head of the Ponte da Boga winery, Yves Constantinidis.
Friday 7 will have the company’s flagship product as the protagonist: our beers. We begin the day with our 2020 Beer Master Sessions programme, with the seventh edition of the Campeonato Gallego de Tiraje de Cerveza(Galician Beer Pulling Championship) challenging Galician bartenders to demonstrate their skills when serving beer and their knowledge about beer culture (10:30am-2: 30pm). In the afternoon, and with Xabier Cubillo from the Hijos de Rivera Beer Culture team, we will discover the beers from the Fábrica de Cervezas Estrella Galiciaproject (6:30-7:00pm); enter the universe of black beers with a tasting workshop (7:15-8:00pm); and we will learn about serving beer (8:15-8:45pm).
On the last day, Saturday 8 February, we will bid farewell to the fair with our distribution wines, with several tastings: Agro de Bazán wines, (1:00-2:30pm), Sanclodio (8:00-9:00pm) and Vinos Singulares(9:00-10:00pm).
