Hijos de Rivera will once again be at the Salón Internacional Xantar de Ourense. Our Company will be hosting a number of activities for the public in order to make its products known, from tastings to beer pulling courses. Therefore, every day will highlight a specific product, among them two local ones: Cabreiroá mineral water (from Verín) and the wine from the Ponte da Boga winery (from Castro Caldelas), both from Ourense.
Wednesday 4, Maeloc Cider Day
Maeloc ciders, made in Chantada (Lugo), will be the protagonist. Taking advantage of the wide range of flavours and styles in its portfolio, there will be tastings open to the general public attending the Salón at Expourense. The first will be 1pm-2.30pm, and the next 7pm-8pm, for specialised culinary press. In addition to this, at 9pm Maeloc proposes an original cider cocktail activity at the stand.
Besides this, the chef Luis Guillermo Castro Pérez, Certified Instructor Chef of the World Association of Chefs Societies, visiting us from Costa Rica, will be offering a gastronomic workshop on pairings of Costa Rican cuisine and Galician cocktails made with Maeloc cider.
Thursday 5, Ponte da Boga wine Day
The second day will centre on the wines in the Ponte da Boga portfolio, the Corporación Hijos de Rivera winery located in the Ribeira Sacra region in Ourense. There will be three tastings throughout the day: at 1pm (lasting an hour and a half), and two in the afternoon, the first at 7.30pm until 8.30pm aimed at culinary bloggers, and the second from 9pm until 10pm, open to the general public and the press.
Friday 6, Estrella Galicia beer Day
Hijos de Rivera proposes two tastings of its range of beers, highlighting its latest launch, 1906 Black Coupage, on this third day. The first will be in the middle of the day (1pm-2.30pm) and the second in the afternoon, rounding off the day, from 8.30-10pm. Before the second tasting there will be a one-hour beer pulling course, at 7pm.
However, beer will not be the sole protagonist of the day. Cabreiroá will organise a children’s workshop, “A aventura está no mar” (“The adventure in the sea”), aimed at encouraging the consumption of fresh and preserved fish among children.
Also, from 8.30pm the chef Carlos Parra (Hotel Castillo de Maceda, Larpeiros) will lead a gastronomic workshop in which he will suggest pairings with Ponte da Boga wines.
Saturday 7, Open day
Saturday will be aimed at making the general public aware of the full range of Hijos de Rivera products, with beer, wine and cider tastings. There will also be a special activity dedicated to Cabreiroá mineral water. The objective is to promote mineral water culture, and its multiple health benefits.
Sunday 8, Closure and Pairings.
Ponte de Boga proposes a farewell that will live up to the event: a Galician wine and cheese tasting at 1pm.
