From 3 – 9 February, the competition Las Américas Tenerife Surf Pro Cabreiroáis held at the Las Américas beach in Tenerife, the only event in the Canary Islands which counts towards scores for the world surf circuit, and the first event in Spain of the European season of the World Surf League (WSL), which begins this circuit in Europe.
We will be present as sponsors of this contest through our brands Estrella Galicia and Cabreiroá, who began in 2019 their relationship with the WSL World Surf League as a partner in the development of the championships that this entity oversees in Spain.
Through this agreement, we will also be present in the coming months in the championships of Zarautz (Basque Country) and Pantín (Galicia), which we already attended last year.
Cabreiroá Pro Las Américas 2020
This contest will bring together around 150 specialists in Tenerife from the international surf circuit in different categories, coming from all over the world, competing for the victory in this championship. Among them, we can see surfers like Rubén Vitoria(Spain), Jakub Kuzia(Poland), Maxime Huscenot(France), Matteo Calatri(Italy) or Cherif Fall(Senegal) in action.
However, Las Américas beach will not only host the best surf this week, but we will also activate, with our Cabreiroá water brand, a series of actions linked to sustainability, with the aim of informing and raising awareness among attendees
We will once again be present with the Cabreiroá Eco-Logic stand, an exhibition space which also helps to raise awareness about actions and trends linked to sustainability and sport.
Through this Cabreiroá Second Life initiative, the whole area where this sporting event will take place will have recycling points which will allow us to give all waste generated a second lease of life. We will also continue to feed the Cabreiroá Bosque de Campeones(Champions’ Forest) by planting a native tree with the name of each of the winners from the contest. Hence, with time, we will be able to create a “forest of champions” with all these trees, which will stand as a symbol of the contest’s champions, while helping us to decrease the carbon footprint, and add our little bit to reforestation.
