With the latest Fábrica de Cervezas Estrella Galicia Naranja Valencia Late, our master brewers have joined Galicia and Valencia with a citrus lager, the eighth launch of the brand’s most innovative line.
To make this beer that pays homage to the Valencian region, the orange peel of the Valencia Late variety has been added to add flavour and aroma.
Oranges are the new protagonists of the Fábrica de Cervezas Estrella Galicia Naranja Valencia Late. This is the first time that the brewery usesan ingredient that is not typical of Galicia, the Valencia Latevariety of oranges from the Valencian region, bringing together both worlds in a surprising proposal. As the label states: “una cerveza de la terriña con lo mejor de la terreta” (a beer from the terriña (“land” in Galician) with the best of the terreta (“land” in Valencian).
In order to make it, our master brewers have added orange peel during the maturing stage, so the beer acquires its flavour. The result is a citrus lager, a beer with a golden colour with a clearly visible white foam head. It has a citric aroma that brings oranges and sweet mandarin to mind, ending with a malt aroma with toasted hints. On the palate, its citric, acidic and sweet flavours surprise, leaving a bitter aftertaste.
With this edition, Fábrica de Cervezas Estrella Galiciaonce again demonstrates its ability to innovate, as well as its over a hundred years of beer know-how. Luis Alvar, the company’s master brewer, highlights “the effort made to add a new ingredient and achieve perfect balance to obtain a beer of the same quality as the previous ones, but surprising everyone with a citric flavour.”
This is the eighth Fábrica de Cervezas de Estrella Galicia edition and it arrives after the success of previous editions: Pimientos de Padrón (Padrón peppers); Percebes da Costa da Morte (Costa da Morte gooseneck barnacles); Pumpkin and Vanilla; Chestnuts; Galician Irish Red, ‘La Pelirroja’; and the smoked Bidueira. All have been well received by consumers and have sold out in a matter of hours, generating great expectation with regards to the successive original recipes presented by Hijos de Rivera.
Consumers that wish to try this latest edition, can buy it on the Estrella Galicia website, as well as selected points of sale, although you’ll have to hurry as only 9,000 litres in 50 cl bottles will be available.
