The eighth edition of the Ciclo 1906 Jazz (1906 Jazz Season) is here, an unmissable event for lovers of the genre, with names such as Chano Domínguez, Dave Douglas, Christian McBride, Antonio Serrano, Eric Revis on the line-up. In Madrid the performances will take place in El Teatro Lara and in Café Berlín, between 24 March and 1 June.

“He knocked me out”. That was the impression that, in his own words, Al Foster made on Miles Davis the first time he heard him play at the Cellar, in Manhattan. Shortly after, the Richmond musician would become essential for Miles, even during his period of self-imposed isolation. In his autobiography, he also says that “Foster had all I needed from a drummer”. Pure Jazz History which spread in time thanks its protagonists who keep the memory alive night after night on stage. Round about jazz and 1906
As a novelty, 1906 also presents a book, “Round about jazz and 1906” which gathers in it the experiences of the previous seven editions of the Season through the voices of their protagonists. Thoughts, interviews, and opinions from great jazz artists appear collectively in this carefully designed publication which will be on sale soon.
In the words of Quinito Mourelle, the coordinator of the book, “it is a work of retrospection that aims to offer a general picture of what has happened in the last seven years of jazz within the Season in the words of the artists, venue owners, organisers, and so on.”
