Santiago de Compostela will be the setting for this great musical event that will take place from 13 to 15 June in O Monte do Gozo. In its second edition, the line up for O Son do Camiño brings together over 30 internationally renowned artists, many of whom will visit Galicia for the very first time, and will also feature an important number of renowned names from the Galician music scene such as Iván Ferreiro.
The revitalised Monte do Gozo in Santiago de Compostela will once again be the setting for the second edition of the O Son do Camiño Festival, which will take place on the 13, 14 and 15 June and will bring together great international and Spanish stars such as the Black Eyed Peas, Iggy Pop, David Guetta, Die Antwoord –his only date this year in Spain-, Rosalía – at one of the very few festivals she will be performing at in 2019-, Bastille, Bloc Party –who will perform the whole of Silent Alarm, their acclaimed debut album-, Richard Ashcroft, Vetusta Morla and Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike. For many of them, it will be their first visit to Galicia.
O Son do Camiño, which gathered 84,000 festival goers in its first edition, established itself as one of the great cultural events in Spain in 2018, as well as becoming the first festival in Spain to sell out of passes on the day tickets went on sale and in just over 2 hours. It will have two stages, a restaurant area, VIP area and rest area.
When do the tickets for O Son do Camiño 2019 go on sale?
The line up for the festival is complete: The Hives, W&W, Beret, Ayax y Prok, Graveyard, Royal Republic, Bad Gyal, Second, Varry Brava, ELYELLA, Shinova, Full, Kitai, Molina Molina, Alice Wonder y Cariño. In addition, a great selection of Galician artists: Iván Ferreiro, Eme Dj, Hard GZ, Igloo, Moderm, Marem Ladson, Baiuca, Familia Caamagno and Ortiga.
Tickets will go on sale on Wednesday 27 February at midday, on osondocamino.esand www.eventbrite.eswith a special launch price of €49, plus fees, and prices will increase in stages reaching a maximum of €95 plus fees.
O Son do Camiño Rest area
O Son do Camiño will offer two options for overnight stays beside the venue: a rest area and a glamping site. A fee is payable to stay at either one, and the following services will be available: showers, café, left luggage room, security, mobile telephone charging points, etc. Tickets will be on sale in the next few days.
The beginning: O Son do Camiño 2018
O Son do Camiño is a festival that is sponsored by the Xunta de Galicia (Galician regional government) with the collaboration of our brand Estrella Galiciaand was set up in 2018 with the aim of promoting Galicia internationally through one of its main tourist and cultural attractions: the Camino de Santiago.
It is also an opportunity to spread local values and talent- 25% of the performers confirmed so far are Galician-, to reinforce the Galician business fabric- over 850 jobs are generated and 83% of Galician providers from all sectors-, and to boost private-public collaboration by developing cultural events together.
Music, culture and events tourism as a resource is gaining popularity, it creates an industry and has a huge economic impact with this event making between 12 and 15 million euros in its first edition. Hotels were filled to capacity in Santiago de Compostela and its surrounding area, and 53% of festival-goers from outside Galicia have said that from the very beginning O Son do Camiño has placed Galicia on the map of the greatest musical production in Spain, as well as enriching the Galician scene which already has important events throughout the year.
O Son do Camiño has won the Premio Fest, where it was nominated for 5 awards, for “Festival Revelación 2018” (2018 Revelation Festival), it obtained two nominations at the European Festival Awards and is a finalist in three categories at the Iberian Festival Awards 2018, whose winners will be announced in March.
O Son de Camiño is an initiative of the U.T.E., made up by the Galician companies Old Navy Port Producciones, S.L. and Esmerarte Industrias Creativas, S.L., sponsored by Turismo de Galicia and with the collaboration of Estrella Galicia. It is a sustainable Festival, which respects the environment, adapted to available social, economic and environmental resources.
