The Fundación Juana de Vega carries out this Programme with the aim of supporting the implementation of new businesses in the countryside which have innovative projects that generate an added value.
Some of the more innovative proposals carried out in the Galician countryside recently will be the protagonists of the second edition of the Harvest Market Roundtables, to be held on April 23 on the stage of the Teatro Rosalia (A Coruña). All th e money raised from this event will go to the Fundación Juana de Vega Support for the Food and Agriculture Entrepreneurship Programme.
The objective of the programme is to contribute to improving the business fabric and economic and social progress in rural areas, via all round support to new businesses in rural areas with innovative projects and which generate added value, allowing the growth of wealth and employment in a strategic sector for Galicia.
The Programme is aimed at any person, regardless of age or educational background, who wishes to put a farm and food produce business project into action. The projects can be new companies or rebuilt companies, or family companies that need to undergo a change in business model. They can also be cooperatives or food and farm product social economies, and in general any individualor collective project that is innovative and adds value to Galician food and farm products.
Through this programme, the Fundación Juana de Vega aims to help those entrepeneneurs to take full advantage of the opportunities and possibilities offered by the countryside as a means to entrepreneurship. All the projects put forward encompass the subsectors of the food and farm sector, including dairy, meat, wine-making, horticulture, aquaculture or forestry, reflecting the dynamism and opportunities that arise from rural Galicia .
