Support for Food and Agriculture Entrepreneurship Programme
The objective of the programme is to contribute to improving the business fabric and economic and social progress in rural areas, via all round support to new businesses in rural areas with innovative projects and which generate added value, allowing the growth of wealth and employment in a strategic sector for Galicia.
The programme is aimed at any person, regardless of age or educational background. It could be a young entrepreneur or someone from the industrial or service sector who has taken early retirement who wishes to put a farm and food produce business into action. The projects can be new companies or rebuilt companies, or family companies that need to undergo a change in business model. They can also be cooperatives or food and farm product social economies, in general any individual or collective project that is innovative and adds value to Galician food and farm products.
Through this programme, the Fundación Juana de Vega aims to help those entrepreneurs to take full advantage of the opportunities and possibilities offered by the countryside as a means to entrepreneurship in this current difficult economic period.
Mercado de la Cosecha (Harvest Market)
Three important companies, Corporación Hijos de Rivera, Gadis and R, have decided to focus part of their social responsibility jointly through the creation of the Mercado de la Cosecha (Harvest Market), a platform of initiatives for those who share and propose ideas to develop the competitive development of Galicia, and the sustainability of rural areas.
One of the highlighted actions of this initiative are the Parladoiros (Roundtables), an event which took place on 23 April at the Teatro Rosalía in A Coruña and at which 8 speakers shared their experiences when faced with the countryside as a way of life.
