Our brand Estrella Galicia will award a prize to the best player from Celta to be chosen by popular vote on the football club’s social media. The first player to receive the award was the striker, Maxi Gómez.
The September award for best Estrella Galicia Player was handed to the striker from Uruguay, Maxi Gómez at the sporting facilities of A Madroa this morning, for his good work in the league matches played so far.
The player was one of the first players signed this summer, and has made a great start to the La Liga Santander. Maxi’s goals have been the key to the eleven points accumulated so far by the club from Vigo. Six of Celta’s goals scored in the games played so far have his name on them.
This initiative that enables Celta fans to choose the player they feel has played the best in the month kicks of with the handing of the award to Maxi Gómez by Jose Redondo, Hijos de Rivera representative in Vigo. They will be able to participate in a popular vote that will bring recognition to the team’s good work through the Club’s social media networks.
In the words of Maxi Gómez, “I am really happy to get this award. The fans have treated me very well from the very start. When I go out into the street they ask me for photographs, and they give me all their support. I just hope that things continue like this, and that it all goes well – for the team and for the fans.”
