The fifth edition of the charity race, supported by the Hijos de Rivera volunteering team and organised by the Rías Altas Food Bank gathered over 800 participants, and raised a total of €7,263.
Over 800 runners took part in the fifth edition of the “5KM Solidarios“ charity race that was held on Sunday in A Coruña, raising €7,263 which will go to the “Banco de Alimentos Rías Altas” (Rias Altas Food Bank) of A Coruña.
The race, supported by the Corporación Hijos de Rivera volunteering team, in collaboration with the Rias Altas Food Bank, filled the industrial estate of Agrela with activity on the morning of Sunday 17 November in aid of good cause.
It was a huge success despite the forecast of adverse weather conditions. Sports men and women, families with children, and even pets gathered throughout the 5 km circuit. The start was at the facilities of our Estrella Galicia brewery, and a large number of participants also enjoyed a Zumba master class held once the race had finished.
All in all, over 800 runners took part, with €7,263 raised between participation fees and “Dorsal 0” donations, which will be of great help to the Rias Altas Food Bank when carrying out the work they do.
The business world also lent their support to this good cause. Thanks to collaborating companies, in addition to the T-shirt and number, runners were given a bag with a range of refreshments and small gifts, donated by some of the business in the area.
This great charity event, which grows with every edition, slowly becoming consolidated in the community’s sporting calendar, has come to and end for this year
