The 1906 range of beers has just been awarded the prestigious ITQI International Award for Superior Taste. The International Taste and Quality Institute of Brussels has awarded 3 Gold Stars, the top award at the Superior Taste Awards 2015 for excellent Quality and Superior Taste, to 1906 Red Vintage and 1906 Reserva Especial. 1906 Black Coupage, less than a year after its launch, received a Gold Star, which represents a vote of confidence for this dark lager in its first year on the market.
All these Hijos de Rivera beers have received in the region of 90 and 100 points in the five categories evaluated by the jury, which is made up of the most prestigious culinary institutions in Europe. Among them are the Maitres Cuisiniers of France and Belgium, The Academy of Culinary Arts, the Federación de Asociaciones de Cocineros, and the Académie Culinaire of France.
In the Beer category, 1906 Red Vintage obtained top marks, 100 out of 100, in the Vision category. In the remaining categories such as taste, body, aroma and first impression, it obtained high marks, in the region of 90 points, with an overall mark of 90.9 out of 100. In the case of this beer, it has been awarded 3 Gold Stars for the third consecutive year, which in turn has meant being awarded the Crystal Award by this institution.
1906 Reserva Especial obtained 3 Gold Stars, with an average score of 90 points in this contest and, specifically, obtained the highest marks, 95 points, in the Vision category.
With these awards, 1906 beers receive important backing on an international level, as these highlight the qualities of products from all over the world in a blind tasting, with no packaging or identification. This is yet another acknowledgement for the 1906 range of beers, along with the Monde Selection Quality Gold Medal, or the World Beer Challenge Gold Medal, one of the most prestigious sector awards in the world, and which has given 1906 Red Vintage awards two years running.
