Our coffee liqueur Quenza has been awarded, for the second consecutive year, the highest prize in the “ Catas de Galicia” (“Galician Tastings”) contest. The top prize was awarded in the 2013 edition of the “Catas de Licores Tradicionais” (Traditional Galician Liqueurs Tasting) on the 2nd of July in a ceremony held at the Hostal dos Reis Catolicos, in Santiago de Compostela.
The Regional Rural Affairs Department organises this contest every year in order to recognise the quality of the wines, “aguardientes” (fire-waters) and liqueurs produced in Galicia. The innovation last year was the inclusion of “licor de hierbas” (herb liqueurs) and “licor café” (coffee liqueurs) in the traditional liqueurs categories. The first prize in the latter category has been for Quenza in both the 2012 and 2013 editions.
