The projects that make up part of the Mercado de la Cosecha are good examples of the potential hidden in our countryside. Its promoters and its products are the best ambassadors of a lifestyle that has no substitute for many Galicians. That is why last summer, during the celebration of the rural festival Son d’Aldea, we decided to set in motion the Mercado de la Cosecha Preguntoiros, an open microphone, to enable some of the participants to share their point of view and explain why they feel it’s such a privilege to enjoy daily life in the countryside. On this occasion, we launched the following simple question: “What is the best thing about living in the countryside?” The quality of its products, the sound of the birds, or the warmth of the people are just some of the many reasons they shared with us.
The Mercado de la Cosecha is a social commitment initiative shared by Corporación Hijos de Rivera, R and Gadis. Its main objective is to boost the socioeconomic development of Galicia and the sustainability of rural areas. In order to do so, it carries out awareness and promotional activities, such as the Parladoiros (Roundtables) already in their second edition, or the Pop-Up store that has just come to an end.
