Ponte da Boga closed one of its best harvests. The climatic conditions throughout the campaign, especially throughout the harvesting month, have produced promising results, both in quantity and in the quality of the harvested grape.
The sunshine and water levels in the soil were excellent during the whole cycle and despite strong storms in September endangering the beginning of the campaign, finally the weather favoured the maturation process and collection. In total 388,131 kilos of grapes of the different varieties that we grow were collected – 332,513 of red grape and the remaining 55,618 of white grape.
In addition to the Mencia and Godello varieties, both references in the D.O and of our Ponte da Boga”, standards, our vineyards have also optimised their productive quality in varieties that have recently been recovered and added, such as Merenzao, Sousón, Brancellao and Albariño.
This will result in an increase in the personality of our range of more singular wines such as Capricho de Merenzao and Porto de Lobos, as well as the Limited Editions in barrel of the Expresión Histórica and Bancales Olvidados series, which originate from selected ancestral vineyards.
This excellent grape harvest backs the effort and commitment made by all the Ponte da Boga team and its wine-growers in our joint search for excellence and pride as a winery of reference in the Ribeira Sacra.
