María Herrera, in third place in the provisional standings of the CEV Repsol, with a win under her belt, has been invited by Dorna as a wildcard in the Motorland GP in Aragon. The young rider from Toledo will travel with her team, the Junior Team Estrella Galicia 0,0, managed by Monlau Repsol Technical School, to take part in this world championship event at the end of September.
The results she has achieved in the first half of the CEV (Spanish Speed Championship) have been positive and the constant evolution of Maria Herrera has given meaning to her being chosen to wildcard. The team, based in Barcelona, are eager to get to the race where Maria Herrera will have a good chance to rub shoulders with the Moto3 World Championship riders. It’s worth remembering that she gained her first CEV Repsol victory precisely on this Aragonese track.
Maria Herrera: “I’m really excited about this new challenge. To take part in a World Championship race has always been one of my dreams. I have to thank Junior Team Estrella Galicia 0,0, Monlau Repsol Technical School and Repsol for this opportunity, as without their support this wouldn’t have been possible. I hope to take full advantage of this wild card to gain more experience and face the final stretch of the CEV Repsol as best as I can.”
The Aragon Motorland GP will be held on the 29th of September and it will be the fourteenth date on the MotoGP World Championship calendar.
