The jury at the International Cider Challenge has published the official prize list for the 2015 edition, in which our Maeloc ciders have obtained seven important awards for quality. Maeloc Dry was given the Special Taste Trophy, and our Raspberry and Strawberry flavoured ciders, Natural, Extra, Sweet, and Non-alcoholic ciders were awarded Bronze Medals in the same category.
Maeloc, therefore, receives important recognition on an international level in one of the most important contests in the sector, already in its sixth edition. The jury, made up of renowned experts and beverage critics, have evaluated a total of 180 varieties of cider from around the world, ranging from traditional cider markets such as Ireland or France to further afield like New Zealand, Japan or Canada, among many others. After the blind tasting, the jury commented that the quality of the products in the contest is increasingly better and, consequently, it is much more complicated to stand out in the sector.
Maeloc, Cosecha de Galicia/Galician Harvest
Maeloc cider is made at the Custom Drinks facilities in Chantada (Lugo) and has always stood out for its innovative presentations and flavours, in addition to emphasising the origin of its production with Galician apples, via the slogan “Cosecha de Galicia” (Galician Harvest), spreading the message on the market of its commitment to quality Galician products. Hence, Maeloc is the leader in the Spanish market in flavoured ciders (pear, blackberry, and strawberry) as well as other consolidated varieties such as Natural cider, Extra cider, Dry and Sweet cider. It exports to countries such as the United States, Japan, United Kingdom, Germany, Singapore, France or the Philippines.
