We introduced our Mexican subsidiary in a spectacular presentation at the Four Seasons in Mexico City full of familiar faces from the Mexican business, social and artistic world who did not want to miss the toast to the success of our company in the country.
Ignacio Rivera, CEO of Corporación Hijos de Rivera, said in his speech that “it is an honor to endorse this special bond that has united us with Mexico since the beginning of our history and to share our tradition and beer culture with a country as rich and vibrant as this. We don’t come, we come back!”
This opening has a special meaning since the over one hundred years of history of our company began in Mexico, where our founder, immigrant in the country, had his first brewing business, before the foundation in Spain of Estrella Galicia in 1906.
Last Friday we celebrated in style our firm commitment to Mexico with our own subsidiary: Cervezas Estrella Galicia Mexico. Our company will have its own importer and distributor of our products in the country as a lever to promote the development of our business in this area with enormous growth potential for our brands, from Estrella Galicia or 1906 beers, to Cabreiroá mineral waters or Maeloc ciders.
The launch of Corporación Hijos de Rivera in Mexico took place in a massive event at the Four Seasons in the Mexican capital. About 250 people from the Mexican business, social and artistic world came to support us in the presentation and to toast the success of our business in the country.
Ignacio Rivera, CEO of Corporación Hijos de Rivera, said in his speech “it is an honour for me, on behalf of my family, to endorse this special bond that has united us to Mexico since the beginning of our history and to share our tradition and beer culture with a country as rich and vibrant as this. We don’t come, we come back!”
Estrella Galicia has been exporting to Mexico for decades and is already present in important distribution points throughout the country, such as Walmart, Soriana, Chedraui and important restaurants. This new partnership will be an important boost for our expansion both in this market and in the Central American area, where we have significant growth potential for the coming years.
The opening of Cervezas Estrella Galicia Mexico has a very special meaning for the company as the beginnings of our over one-hundred-year history is linked to this American country, specifically with the city of Veracruz. It is there that our founder, José María Rivera Corral, emigrated to in the late nineteenth century and where he ran a business linked to beer for the first time, “La Estrella de Oro”. After his return from Mexico, in 1906, he founded in A Coruña the current brewery.
Music, gastronomy and the best beer
Last Friday, the central courtyard of the Four Seasons Mexico City hotel was the scene of a impressve party full of familiar faces of Mexican society.
The music could not be missing and reflected the union of identities of both countries, with the Mexican singer and composer Majo Aguilar and his mariachi, next to the talent of the Spaniards Josemi Carmona, Javier Colina, and Bandolero; in addition to the special participation in the dance of Niño de los Reyes and Triana Maciel.
Sport was also present, and the Ferrari driver Carlos Sainz, supported since the beginning of his career by Estrella Galicia, wanted to send a greeting to the attendees from the paddock of the Mexican Grand Prix of F1 that was held at the weekend.
Gastronomy was the finishing touch at this event in the shape of a menu designed to pair Galician and Mexican cultures, by the renowned Michelin Star chef Fernando “Caco” Agrasar, from the As Garzas restaurant in A Coruña.
