One of the most captivating icons on the current independent music scene, Julia Holter, will perform within SON Estrella Galicia on the 24th of July in the Teatro Lara (Madrid) where she will be presenting tracks from her new project, set for release later this year.
Julia made a name for herself with her debut album “Tragedy” in August 2011, which put her name in lights and projected it to a larger audience. Next, she released “Ekstasis” and with it came a growth in popularity. Her signing to Domino records at the end of last year meant a re-issue of her debut album on vinyl. Not only that, but in December of last year, Domino re-released “Ekstasis” and published a fantastic 12” (limited to 250 copies) which included a number of versions of her track “Goddess Eyes”.
Her name creates anticipation on its own, leaving aside the fact that it is associated with others of her generation such as Zola Jesus, Grouper or Julianna Barwick. Holter is not only contemporary pop, but she also represents the best of its kind, and we can experience it for ourselves on the 24th of July in the Teatro Colon (Madrid) thanks to SON Estrella Galicia.
