The fashion designer from Lugo returns to his birthplace to take part in 12miradas::Riverside, where he will offer his vision of life and art through images that are significant for him. He will be giving a talk at the Galería Vilaseco in A Coruña on 26 December, at 8.30pm, which will also be the inauguration of his exhibition.
The 12 Miradas :: Riverside season coordinated by Carlos Quintáns and supported by Corporación Hijos de Rivera and Laboratorio Creativo Vilaseco welcomes Jorge Acuña, one of the most important fashion designers on the Spanish fashion scene at the moment.
The fashion creator from Lugo, who is celebrating his tenth year in the fashion industry this year, brings to an end the celebrations by returning to his origins to share his most personal vision of life and art.
On 26 December, at 8.30pm at Galería Vilaseco in A Coruña, Acuña will give a talk in which he will transmit his personal vision via images chosen by him, and he will also inaugurate his month-long exhibition.
From 12miradas::Riverside, specialists and the curious can explore 12 combinations of images accompanied by talks by the protagonist, and exhibits (“work benches”) which will feature small “visual stories”, inviting the observer to make their own interpretation of them.
Jorge Acuña, Lugo 1982
Jorge Acuña was born in 1982. After having studied Fine Art in Lugo, he moved to Madrid, where he studied advertising and Public Relations at the Universidad Complutense. After winning the first Premio de Creatividad(Creativity Award) awarded by the university and the advertising agency McCann-Erickson, he joined the latter. From 2002, he developed his career in the world of fashion, working with designers such as Juanjo Oliva, Carmen March, Fosca Bertrán and Sybilla.
In 2007 he created his own brand, and opened his own atelier in 2008.
Currently, Jorge Acuña is a member of the Asociación de Creadores de Moda de España(Association of Fashion Creators in Spain) and his collections feature on the Madrid Fashion Week catwalks.
