From April 24 to 27 at Ifema, Madrid, the thirty-first Salón de Gourmets will be taking place. The international gourmet food and wine fair will be, during that time, a showcase for top quality products from all over the world.
The Salón de Gourmets is considered one of the most prestigious fairs on both the Spanish and international scenes, with 1,500 exhibitors, 35,000 products, around 800 activities and almost 81,000 professional attendees during the last edition.
For this 4 day edition, the fair hopes to top these figures during which there will be a wide range of activities such as workshops, show-cooking events, tastings, presentations and contests to bring the fair to life, and to encourage the participation of the attendees: Spanish ham slicing contest, Spanish Oyster-opening championship, Spanish sommelier contest, New Product exhibitions, among other. Hijos de Rivera will be present at this gastronomy event yet another year, with Estrella Galicia and Cabreiroá as official products. We will have a 200 square-metre stand, which will the setting for 12 activities featuring the company’s products, activities that will be led by over 10 professionals from the sector and the company, and we will also have as collaborators Raza Nostra and Grupo NOVE.
Within the frame of the Salón de Gourmets, we will also hold the IV Campeonato de Tiraje de Cerveza Estrella Galicia (IV Estrella Galicia Beer Pulling Championship) On the morning of April 24, the Madrid Championship will find the best beer puller in the area. The winner and runner-up will compete on Tuesday 25 at the Grand Final, also held at the fair, where they will compete at the taps with the other champions and runner-ups of the regional phases.
The Salon will also feature the fifth Spanish tapas championship (Gourmetapa Estrella Galicia), an initiative that pays homage to the tapa culture, and where 20 participants will compete to win the title of Best tapa in Spain, which must marry with one of the beers from our catalogue.

4.30pm – Mineral water tasting: Mineral water from the Cabreiroá spring (with the mineral water expert sommelier Mercedes González)
5.30pm – Collaborative Pairing: Raza Nostra and Estrella Galicia
Tuesday 25
10.30am – IV Beer Master Sessions, National Grand Final
4.00pm – Reverse Pairing: The gastronomic value of the mineral waters from the Cabreiroá spring.
5.30pm – Brasserie D’Achouffe: Beer from the Belgian Ardennes.
5.30pm – Atlantic Cuisine & 1906 (with the chefs Yayo Daporta, Lucía Freitas and Héctor López)
Wednesday 26
10.30am – Gourmetapa Estrella Galicia
5.30pm – Ponte da Boga tasting: “Trousseau and its Galician version of the Ribeira Sacra, Merenzao”
