Fontarelcontinued its production growth in 2018, producing over 51.2 million litres of water bottled. In terms of turnover, the company closed the year with 5.15 million euros, 2.2% more than 2017.

In 2018 the sponsorship agreement between the Real Betis and Malaga CF football teams was extended, making Fontarel the official water for both clubs, which is an important boost for brand notoriety for the Andalusian mineral water brand.
Fontarel has, in recent years, experienced an important image renewal with fresher designs, full of light, on its labels, and has presented a series of advertising campaigns with the claim “Fontarel porque aquí la vida se bebe a todo color” (“Fontarel, because life here is lived in full colour”).

The spring in Loja (Granada), was acquired in 2015 by the Hijos de Rivera business group, allowing the company to extend its mineral water offer, which already included Cabreiroá in Ourense and Agua de Cuevas in Asturias. The company bottled almost 185 million litres of water in its three springs
Fontarel is located almost right in geographical centre of Andalusia in the area of Loja, on the border between the provinces of Malaga and Granada. Located in an area of 5 hectares and with a protection perimeter of 50 hectares, it produces water of weak mineralisation.
