We have renewed the sponsorship agreement with Monbus Obradoiro, an agreement that makes our brands Estrella Galicia and Cabreiroá the club’s main and official sponsors, respectively, and which will be in place for the next four years.
This agreement also includes the exclusive presence of Estrella Galicia 0,0 on the first team shirts’ fronts, and Cabreiroá on the back bottom of the lower categories’ shirts.
The club’s general director, José Luis Mateo, accompanied by the team coach, Moncho Fernández, and by one of the captains,
Alberto Corbacho, who became an improvised model for the shirt, was in charge of explaining the details of the agreement reached with our company. “A number of factors, mainly the responsible attitude of the Board of Directors in recent years, the values transmitted by our sports team, and our wonderful supporters, has meant that the prestige of the Obradoiro brand has increased significantly in recent years, allowing us to have a number of sponsors to choose from for the next few seasons. We have decided that there is no one better than Estrella Galicia to be on our shirt. We have many reasons to support and defend this decision. Estrella Galicia was already a part of our project, they made a real effort to be with the team for the Copa del Rey (“the King’s Cup”), and we think that we share many signs of identity, many corporate philosophy values, and this equates to guarantees with regards to a sponsorship relationship.”
He went on to say that “Estrella Galicia has wanted to be with us for the mid to long term, and they are also going to support our lower categories with Cabreiroá. An equally important aspect is that, throughout all the years we have been together, during all the difficult moments, we have always received their encouragement, support and messages assuring us that together we would do it.”
José Luis Mateo finished by thanking “the Rivera family, Pepe Cabanas, José Villanueva and all his team, and Guillermo Fernández for the faith they have shown in our project. This will be rewarded from our side, with everyone’s help, with results and actions.”
José Villanueva, head of sponsorships at Hijos de Rivera, accompanied by the Head of Sales at Hijos de Rivera, Guillermo Fernández, explained that “on behalf of Hijos de Rivera we would like to say that we are delighted. It is a very special day for us. This is the start of a new stage of the sponsorship between both parties, as we have had a long relationship which is set to continue. We are very proud to be on the shirt through our brand
Estrella Galicia 0,0”.
He also highlighted that “both parties represent very similar philosophies and as the season has progressed we have witnessed how Monbus Obradoiro has established itself as part of elite sport, like the ACB, becoming the only Galician team in the top category in basketball. We are grateful for the opportunity to be able to be on the team kit exclusively, and we are sure that we will make a small contribution to the project’s growth that, as we all know, has a social following that is getting stronger and has increasing impact.”
