Deportivo de La Coruña won the trophy by penalties. The match reached the end of the 90 minutes in a draw after Lugo managed to overcome a 2 goal deficit. Lucas Pérez scored two goals for Deportivo before minute 20 in the first half, Molinero in the first half and Joselu in the second half put Lugo on the scoreboard. During the penalty shoot-out, David Gómez, Deportivo goal-keeper, saved two, giving his team the trophy.
This tournament pays homage to Ramón Rivera Riguera, who was part of the third generation of the Rivera family, one of the founders of the Victoria Club and promoter of this tournament which is now in its seventeenth year, but which had disappeared for almost thirty. In 2009, the Club wanted to recognise his work in support of grass roots sport, naming this championship after him and recovering the essence of its first years, with the support of Hijos de Rivera.
Around 10,000 spectators were at the stadium, which meant a total of €27,215 which will be donated to the Cocina Económica de La Coruña.
