Within the frame of our collaboration agreement with the VIII Centenary of St Francis of Assisi’s pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela, our brand Estrella Galicia has developed a gastronomy event, together with Turgalicia,which brings together the most important “tapas” competitions in our region for the first time ever. “De Tapas por Galicia” presents a gastronomy route which will pass through the seven main cities in Galicia, from mid September to the end of the year. In order to put it into action, it has been necessary to coordinate with Turismo de Galicia, the Councils of A Coruña, Ferrol, Santiago, Lugo, Ourense, Vigo and Pontevedra, in addition to each region’s Catering Association.
Our brand Estrella Galicia will be the only private sponsor of this event, which was revealed at a special presentation yesterday in Madrid and which will be revealed today in Barcelona. The jury and consumers will evaluate the quality of the tapas put forward by the catering professionals, and one of the main contests will be the creation or pairing of the “tapas” with one of our beers.
“De Tapas por Galicia” in addition wants to be an event of interest for tourists who will have a large choice of dates during which to enjoy the gastronomy on offer in each of the main Galician cities:
A Coruña: “Concurso de tapas Picadillo”. 12 -28 September.
Lugo: “Concurso de tapas de Lugo”. 12-30 September.
Ourense: “Concurso de pinchos de otoño” 27 October to 11 November.
Vigo: “Concurso de tapas de Vigo” 3 October- 2 November.
Santiago: “Santiago é tapas” 6-23 November.
Pontevedra: “Pontedetapas”. 28 November – 8 December.
Ferrol: “Tapéate Ferrol”. 4-8 December.
