What is Maeloc?
Galicia is the main producer of cider apples in Spain and the company Customdrinks from Chantada (Lugo) has backed the production of cider within our region, always working side by side with the producers from who they obtain the raw material. The Corporación Hijos de Rivera company collects apples from over 1,000 native farmers.
In recent years, there has been a firm commitment towards ecological production, encouraging farming within those parameters in order to make ecological ciders which are 100% from ecological Galician apples. Besides this, the Maeloc project, which carries out research and cataloguing activities of the different varieties of Galician apples within our region, has been set up.
All this effort in production and innovation has given rise to a wide range of Maeloc products such as natural, sweet or dry ciders and, for the first time in Spain, pear, blackberry and strawberry flavoured ciders.
