During the press conference, Carlos Sainz gave Ignacio Rivera, CEO of Hijos de Rivera, the number from his first kart (in 2001), a very special memento for the driver that will be exhibited in our Mega museum.
Our Formula 1 driver, Carlos Sainz, said that he was especially excited about Sunday’s Spanish Grand Prix that will be held at the Circuito de Catalunya. His statement at an event organised by our brand Estrella Galicia 0,0, who sponsors Toro Rosso, is not surprising as the vast majority of the rider’s fans will be there to support him on the day.
During the event, the Toro Rosso driver shared his opinions with Ignacio Rivera, CEO of Hijos de Rivera. Together they recalled Sainz’s career from the beginning, and they made special mention of the values that both the company and the young Formula 1 driver share. Sainz also spoke about his expectations for this season. For him, the objective is very clear. “ I am very happy with the results of the last four races, as they have been extremely complicated. The aim is to finish seventh or eighth”.
Ignacio Rivera highlighted the strong bond between the company and the young driver that has existed from the very start, as they share values such as the desire to improve and hard work. “It is an honour for our brand to sponsor Carlos Sainz. Estrella Galicia will never sponsor someone who is already a champion, as we like to see them grow. At the beginning, people looked at me as if I were an alien but now we are increasingly happier to be in Formula 1”, adding that “Carlos is not the future, he is the present. The signs are clear and Carlos is brilliant. I have absolutely no doubt that he will triumph. This weekend will be complicated, although he is back home in his country, and that always helps”.
