Bar staff from Pontevedra and Ourense will put their skills to the test at the qualifying round of the II Estrella Galicia Galician Draught Beer Pulling Championship

Our beer, Estrella Galicia, is looking for the Best Beer Puller in Galicia and, in order to do so, will be holding a qualifying phase for bar staff from the Pontevedra and Ourense areas on March 9 at the Hotel Pazo Los Escudos in Vigo.

The catering professionals from the south of Galicia will have the opportunity to demonstrate their beer pulling skills in front of an expert jury. The five finalists from this phase will face the five finalists from the north of Galicia at the Estrella Galicia Galician Beer Pulling Championship to be held on March 16 at the Forum Gastronómico de A Coruña. All of them will be competing for the title of Best Beer Puller in Galicia.

In addition to this, the Galician Champion and Runner-up will represent the region in the national championship that will take place in April as part of the Salón Gourmets de Madrid.

Registration will be open until midday on 27 February, and aspirants can register via the Estrella Galicia web page, free of charge, to win the prize for professionalism when serving beer.

The objective of the championship is to promote brewery culture and acknowledge the work carried out by Galician bartenders as an essential link in the distribution chain of Estrella Galicia products. The beer brand has decided to test the skills and the standard of service of Galician catering professionals with the aim of rewarding the bartenders’ talent and effort when serving the product in the best possible way for the consumer to enjoy it.

The jury is made up of beer pulling, catering and gastronomy experts, who will be in charge of evaluating quality, efficacy and speed of service as well as the participants’ knowledge about the characteristics of Estrella Galicia products.

This event will be held within the Estrella Galicia Beer Master sessions, during which other activities such as tastings, beer and tapas pairings, and talks to raise awareness of the world of beer will take place. In addition to this, from February 20 until March 1 over 50 bartenders from Vigo will have the opportunity to demonstrate their talent by creating tapas made with or made to accompany Estrella Galicia premium beers at the Vigo E-Tapas contest in which the company will reward the gastronomic skills of the participants.
