The “Guia de Vinos, Destilados y Bodegas de Galicia 2015” (the 2015 Guide to wines, spirits and wineries in Galicia) has awarded prizes to three of our wines in its current edition. Ponte da Boga Godello 2013 and Ponte da Boga Expresión Gótica have both received Gold medals and our Ponte da Boga Mencia 2013 has won a Silver medal at the contest organised by the publication which is edited by the expert oenologist Luis A. Paadin and the wine consultancy Servino.
Already in its third year, the publication evaluates all the wines with Galician D.O., including Ribeira Sacra, analysing all the wines presented by 93 wineries by using blind testing methods. The guide, like all previous editions, has been published via crowdfunding and with no advertising. Its first edition won the Gourmand prize for the best Spanish wine guide in Europe.
Luis A. Paadin, oenologist and with a Masters in Wine Cultivation and Oenology from the University of Vigo, and President of the Asociacion Gallega de Catadores (Galician Wine Tasters Association) is co-author of this magazine which recognises the quality of Galician wines and spirits. The 2015 Guide to wines, spirits and wineries includes all the wineries and distilleries in Galicia which hold D.O. and over 300 wines and spirits that have won medals, and tasting notes.
