Ana Teijeio is an example of adaptation to modern times. Her company, Buxaina, is a curious story of evolution from traditional carpentry to the recovery and manufacturing of traditional board games.
Tired of heaving furniture up stairs to clients’ homes, Ana and her husband decided it was time to concentrate all their experience on doing something more creative and easier. This change has given rise to the creation of Buxaina.com, an online shop selling traditional board games made of wood, hand crafted and with original designs.
Taking the step from an activity that was part of a bigger construction industry to one in which the whole process of a product is in your hands was not simple. In her own words, “We were so nervous that I can’t even remember the first sale we made.”
Very soon they discovered how different it was to work with gift products. Ana tells us how the first Christmas “the delivery company couldn’t arrive on time to deliver an order in time for Christmas Eve, so my husband and I got into the car and we arrived in Ourense at 10am as if we were the delivery company.”
