The championship, which pays tribute to Ramón Rivera Riguera, part of the third generation of the Rivera family, owner of Estrella Galicia, will once again host the classic charity tournament in support of La Cocina Económica after four days during which 12 matches have been played between the different categories of the club from Coruña ( under 14s, youth, under 16s, and women’s) and other teams from Galicia at the Víctor Fernández Alonso football ground.
Moncho Rivera, part of the third generation of the Rivera family, was one of the founders of the Victoria club and promoted this Tournament which is sixteen years old, but which had disappeared for almost thirty years. In 2009, the Club wanted to recognise the work carried out by its promoter in supporting grass roots sport, naming the trophy after him, and regaining the essence of the early years, with the support of Hijos de Rivera.
