The 1906 family has been awarded so far in 2017 a total of 11 international prizes, which are added to a long list of prestigious awards that has already topped 30.

The 1906 beer family, fruit of our master brewers’ most personal interpretation, continues to consolidate itself as one of the best beers in the world by picking up, in the first seven months of this year, a total of 11 international prizes.
1906 Reserva Especial, which has been on the market the longest, as well as 1906 Red Vintage and 1906 Black Coupage, added to the family more recently, have an unstoppable career with regards to international awards. For yet another year, they have repeated such important awards such as Monde Selection and the Superior Taste Awards from the International Taste and Quality Institute in Brussels, obtaining higher marks than in previous editions. 1906 Red Vintage and 1906 Black Coupage have also obtained other important awards such as the Craft Beer Award.
Monde Selection
The 1906 range of beers was one of the top winners at the international Monde Selection 2017, awarded by the International Institute for Quality Selections, walking away with 2 Gold Medals for its reference products: 1906 Reserva Especial and 1906 Red Vintage. In addition to this honour, our most recent launch, 1906 Black Coupage, won the top prize, the Grand Gold, at the contest which certifies the highest degree of quality in the opinion of the experts that make up the jury in each edition.
These are greatly prestigious awards as the International Institute for Quality Selections Monde Selection is one of the longest-running international institutions with steady commitment to Quality in consumer products. For over 40 years, its seal has featured on over 3,000 consumer products from all over the world, and its jury is made up of important international chefs, and famous sommeliers from all over Europe.
Superior Taste Award
Likewise, the 1906 family has also triumphed, for another year, at the Superior Taste Award that grants the iTQi (International Taste & Quality Institute) to products that stand out for their quality on an international level.
The jury, made up of 60 sommeliers from the most prestigious restaurants in the world have awarded 1906 Reserva Especial and 1906 Red Vintage the highest distinction, three Gold Stars, which is given to products with outstanding flavour. 1906 Black Coupage has obtained two Gold Stars, which classify it as a beer with Superior Taste.
The iTQi awards are great international recognition, as they are awarded by means of a blind tasting during which the expert jury evaluates the products, which have no packaging or any other identifying element.
World Beer Challenge
The 1906 range also won three Gold Medals in the latest edition of the World Beer Challenge 2017. Almost 500 beers from all over the world participated in this latest edition, where only 36 managed to top the 90 points necessary to be given this distinction. 1906 Reserva Especial, 1906 Red Vintage and 1906 Black Coupage obtained 95.3, 95 and 95 points, respectively. Reserva Especial has won the award for three consecutive years, Red Vintage for the second time, and Black Coupage beats its score of last year where it won a Silver medal.
Craft Beer Award
Our 1906 Red Vintage and 1906 Black Coupage were awarded Gold at the Craft Beer Award 2017, given by Meininger, at which a total of 90 experts selected these beers from among the best craft beers from 80 countries.
These prizes are added to a long list of prestigious awards obtained by our 1906 beer family that have already picked up over 30 international prizes.
This long lost of awards highlights the hard work, the careful selection of ingredients, and the know-how of our master brewers, a true reflection of the passion, dedication, and commitment of our Company to offer the best possible product.
